How Shopify POS Revolutionized Boronea's Retail Experience
The Brand
Boronea is a distinguished Puerto Rican brand specializing in men's resort-style clothing and accessories. Rooted in Caribbean lifestyle and heritage, their designs seamlessly blend the rich history of ancient cities with a modern sensibility. Boronea's commitment to quality is evident through their use of 100% cotton textiles for comfortable and lightweight clothing and 100% leather for their shoes. Each handmade hat, a testament to craftsmanship, requires approximately 60 hours of meticulous work. Boronea's offerings encompass a wide range of men's fashion, from high-end sophistication to casual and simple attire. Additionally, they offer men's accessories and swimwear.
The Challenge
Boronea, a well-established clothing and accessory brand in Puerto Rico, had been enjoying consistent growth in both their online and brick-and-mortar store sales. However, they grappled with several challenges related to operational efficiency and transaction accuracy in their physical stores. These challenges stemmed from an outdated point of sale (POS) system that lacked seamless integration with their ecommerce platform.
The Solution
To tackle these challenges, the Boronea team decided to implement the Shopify POS system. This move offered a streamlined solution with robust integration capabilities, aligning perfectly with their existing Shopify ecommerce platform. The new system enabled Boronea to conduct sales seamlessly, both online and in their physical stores, all through a unified platform. Centralizing inventory and transactions became a reality, bolstering efficiency. Furthermore, the staff received comprehensive training in operating the new hardware and software components of Shopify POS.

Equipment Procurement
We provided Boronea with a detailed list of necessary equipment for each store, including barcode scanners, printers, receipt printers, cash drawers, credit card readers, and iPads with stands.

Installation
We visited each Boronea store to install the new system. The process began with carefully disconnecting and safely storing their old equipment.

Configuration
We configured iPads, ensuring they were connected to the internet and that the Shopify POS app was correctly installed. This step also required verifying that Boronea's Shopify account was on the appropriate plan to utilize the POS system.

Hardware Setup
We established Bluetooth connections for the various hardware components, including barcode scanners, printers, cash drawers, and credit card readers.

Testing
Rigorous testing followed equipment setup. We printed barcodes for new products and scanned them to verify their accuracy in the POS system. We processed test orders using different payment methods, such as cash and credit cards, to ensure correct receipt printing and order total calculations.

Employee Management Integration
We incorporated the “EasyTeam" employee management app into Shopify POS. Employee profiles were created, and permissions were configured by the Boronea owner. Staff were trained on using their individual accounts, covering tasks like order management, refunds, gift card issuance, and clocking in and out via the EasyTeam app.

The adoption of the Shopify POS point of sale system yielded significant improvements for Boronea:
